October Activities at Morrow Manor

senior care physicians

October is winding down at Morrow Manor! It’s been a fun month for us and our residents, full of great dining and snacks, beautiful fall foliage, and lots of laughs shared between friends. Our November activities calendar will be available to view soon, but before we jump ahead into chillier weather and holiday preparations, we wanted to share with you some of our favorite activities from the month of October.

Our social activities are all planned with the organization and creativity of our Activities Director. Each month our calendar is filled with personal care, religious activities for those interested, games and movies, and fun snacks, among others. One of our residents’ favorites was fall refreshments. Our usual “Coffee and Tea Time” and “Devotion and Refreshments” are always staples at Morrow Manor, but this month we also sipped some cider and hot chocolate, plus ate donuts and cookies that we decorated ourselves.

Other important activities we had at Morrow Manor in October had to do with staying active! From “Exercise with Dory” a couple times a month, to kickball, to “Let’s Move”, to the balloon toss, we tried our best to get our bodies moving and provide accessible activities for all residents, especially those with mobility or strength issues.

Finally, our residents really appreciated Nail & Hair Spa Day. For the ladies, getting their nails done once in a while is special as it boosts their self confidence and lets them feel like the pretty ladies they are! Everyone likes a fresh haircut now and again to change things up, too. What’s your favorite way to practice self care?

In any senior living environment, it’s important to feel at home. With our planned monthly activities at Morrow Manor we aim to do just that! Along with our friendly staff, welcoming and clean facility, and environment of like-minded seniors, staying social is a big part of what makes resident life special. We invite you to check out our November calendar and newsletter soon and keep up with us on social media for photo updates!
